LOUIS ARMSTRONG Double Bill

LOUIS ARMSTRONG Double Bill
£22.00
CD / Product Number: URCD042

URCD204 Birth of the Allstars 1947-1954 This is the first CD to trace the background to the touring band that sustained Armstrong's world-wide fame. 21 tracks covering 75 minutes of glorious music from the one and only Sachmo. To paraphrase Alistair Cooke - Louis Armstrong is dead - I don't have to believe it if I don't want to.
JCCD3069 A Satchel Full of Satch First, a marvellous airshot from the 30s featuring an incredible all-star band of Louis and Fats Waller - together for their only live collaboration - with Jack Teagarden, Bud Freeman, Al Casey, Red Callendar and Slick Jones. Second is a live performance from the Nice Jazz Festival in the 40s by the original Armstrong All-Stars. The 3rd is from the 50s and was performed at New York's famous Basin Street East Nightclub where the band was having a fabulous night and the music swings like holy hell!
